Loire Valley, France
This wine is named after the song and album released by Archie Shepp in 1968 which one reviewer has described as a “tour-de-force” and “eighteen plus minutes of Shepp roaring on tenor on top of a drum hurricane. The energy level starts off frenetic and stays there”.
That’s all well and good, however we find the drink as opposed to the music quite calming and relaxing. Notes of tropical fruit provided by the Sauvignon and floral notes from the Muscadelle. We very much like this vintage and are impressed by the texture as well. - Living Wines (importer)
Grapes: Chenin Blanc / Sauvignon Blanc / Muscadelle
The Mosses are certified Biologique by Qualite France .
This year it has been made using Chenin Blanc (40%), Sauvignon Blanc (30%) and Muscadelle (30%) that have been direct pressed. The Muscadelle spent 6 months in used barrels, the Sauvignon was in a 25 hectolitre foudre and the Chenin Blanc in a stainless steel tank on its lees. They were then assembled into an harmonious blend.
