A highly distinctive grape variety, known for its crisp, dry & aromatic style. No matter where it is grown in the world, it can display notes of gooseberries, nettles & crushed blackberry leaves. It’s stronghold has always been the Loire Valley - notably Sancerre & Pouilly-Fumé - but with new homelands being found in New Zealand, Australia & South Africa. However, if you fancy falling in love with this grape variety all over again, look for bottlings from Austria’s Styria region.
