Whilst it may be the Ruler of the German varietals, it also reigns for its incredible ability to express terroir & to age for decades. The Mosel is often considered to be its best expression - racy, direct & slatey to taste. However, in warmer spots (the Pfalz), this can move into something riper, more spicy & exotic. However, it has adapted so well & can be found in New Zealand, North America & Australia’s Clare Valley.
