One of the two red grapes of the oh-so cool Jura region of France. Whilst it is really important to the area, it is demanding in how much sunlight it needs to grow, which means that its plantings are miniscule. The wines are dark cherry in colour with dark berries on the palate, a subtle spiciness & a pink grapefruit peel bitterness to finish. Look out for plantings in Spain, Portugal & Oregon.
